1. Why we verify
Before you obtain full access to your account and before any withdrawal, we are required to confirm that you are 19 years of age or older, a resident of British Columbia, and the person you say you are. This identity, age and residency verification (KYC) is a legal duty under our anti-money-laundering obligations (the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act) and under British Columbia gaming rules. It helps keep play safe, lawful and protected against fraud.

2. What to upload
Please provide a clear copy of a valid government-issued photo identification (for example a driver's licence, passport or BC Services Card with photo) and, where requested, proof of your British Columbia residential address (for example a recent utility bill or bank statement). Documents must be clear, show the full document including all four corners, be current and unexpired, and match the details on your account.

3. How to upload securely
Sign in to your account and open the Document Upload tool. Upload your files in a supported format, following the on-screen prompts. The connection is encrypted, and your documents are sent directly to our verification team. Do not send identity documents by ordinary email.

4. Review timeline and what happens next
Our team reviews submitted documents as quickly as possible. Until verification is complete, your account may be restricted and withdrawals held. If a document is unclear or further information is needed, we will let you know what to provide. Once verification is successful, full access and withdrawals are enabled.

5. How your documents are protected
As a public body, BCLC handles your information in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (British Columbia). Your documents are encrypted, access is limited to authorised staff on a need-to-know basis, and information is retained only as long as required by law before being securely destroyed or de-identified.
