Frequently asked questions
Answers about accounts, playing, payments, responsible gaming and getting help.
Account & registration
How do I create an account?
Select Sign up, enter your email and a password, then your name, date of birth, residential address and province. Confirm the required consents and complete verification. You must be 19 or older and a resident of British Columbia.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 19 years of age or older — the legal gambling age in British Columbia — and resident in and physically located in the province. We verify your age, identity and residency at registration and may re-verify at any time.
Who is eligible to play?
Our services are available only to players who are 19+, resident in British Columbia and physically located in the province, and who are not currently self-excluded through Game Break. BCLC is not authorized to offer gambling outside British Columbia.
Can I have more than one account?
No. Each player may hold a single account in their own true name. Holding multiple accounts is a breach of our Player Agreement and may lead to suspension.
I forgot my password.
Use the "Forgot password?" link on the login page, or contact Customer Support. For your security we may ask you to verify your identity before restoring access.
How do I close my account?
Contact Customer Support and we will close your account; any verified balance is returned to you, subject to standard checks. If you would prefer a temporary break, you can take a break or enrol in Game Break (Voluntary Self-Exclusion) instead.
Playing & games
How do I play a lottery game?
Open a game such as Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 or BC/49, pick your numbers or tap Quick Pick, choose how many lines to play, and confirm. The cost is the price per line times the number of lines. Your entry is recorded in your account and compared to the draw.
What is Quick Pick?
Quick Pick instantly generates a random line of numbers for you, so you do not have to choose them yourself. You can play Quick Pick and manual lines together.
What games can I play?
We offer B.C. lotteries (Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, BC/49, Extra, Keno and BC 50/50), casino / eGaming, and sports betting, in each case only to the extent BCLC is authorized to offer them in British Columbia.
When are the draws and results?
Each game shows its own draw schedule on its card and page, with times given in Pacific Time. Results are produced by certified systems and posted after every draw, then recorded in your account.
What are my odds of winning?
Every game page shows its prize tiers and overall odds. Odds describe long-run probabilities and do not guarantee a win in any single play — games of chance have no memory, so past results never change the next outcome.
Are the games fair?
Outcomes of eligible games are determined by a certified random number generator that is independently tested by accredited laboratories. See our Fairness & RNG Testing Methods page for more detail.
Payments & prizes
How do I add funds?
Add funds through an approved payment method registered in your own name. The payment logos in the footer show supported methods. All transactions are in Canadian dollars (CAD), and we never extend credit for play.
How are prizes paid?
Prizes are credited to your account after results are validated. Smaller prizes are credited automatically; before any withdrawal we complete identity, age and residency verification (KYC), and certain prizes follow procedures set with the regulator.
How do I withdraw?
Request a withdrawal to a verified payment method in your own name. Withdrawals are paid only after identity verification is complete and may be subject to limits and security review under our anti-money-laundering obligations.
Why do you ask for verification documents?
We are required to verify identity, age, British Columbia residency and, where relevant, source of funds under Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and anti-money-laundering (AML) rules, including the PCMLTFA. You can upload documents securely through our Document Upload tool.
Responsible gaming
How do I set limits?
Open your account and use the GameSense tools to set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits and a time/session limit. A decrease to a limit applies immediately; an increase takes effect only after a waiting period.
How do I take a break or self-exclude?
From your account you can take a break, or enrol in Game Break (Voluntary Self-Exclusion) to exclude yourself for a period you choose. We check self-exclusion status at registration and at login; during an active exclusion you cannot play, and promotional messages are paused.
Where can I get help with gambling?
Free, confidential help is available in British Columbia through the BC Responsible & Problem Gambling Program at 1-888-795-6111 (24/7), and through GameSense. You can also speak with your doctor, and the helpline supports family members too.
How do you protect minors?
You must be 19 or older to register, and we verify age, identity and residency. If you share a device, use password protection and parental controls such as Apple Screen Time or Android Family Link, and never let a minor play under your account.
